What do the scores represent?

The Sensay Score (Overall Score) is aggregated from the following metrics:

Accuracy: indicates the pronunciation accuracy of the recording. Sensay’s AI evaluates the accuracy of each phoneme. The phoneme scores are then aggregated to produce the final Accuracy score.

Pronunciation: indicates the quality of pronunciation of the entire text.

Fluency: evaluates the silent breaks between words in the recording.

Completeness: calculated using the word count ratio of the recording to the given text. This score is currently only available for Reading Exercises.

Spoken Word Count: the total number of words spoken in the recording. This helps teachers gauge the quantity of speech produced by the student.

Words per Minute: a measure of speaking speed. It is calculated by dividing the total number of words spoken by the duration of the recording in minutes. A balanced WPM indicates comfortable pacing—not too slow, and not rushed.
